Gregory W. Robinson

Mr. Robinson has been specialising in senior international executive appointments for over 18 years. Sector experience is broad and includes consumer retail, natural resources, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, telecommunications, technology, financial services, health and sport.

Mr. Robinson has acted as an adviser to many of Australia’s leading corporations on Board performance, capability and succession. He is a member of the Board, CEO and CFO Practices.  

Prior to establishing Blenheim Partners, Mr. Robinson was based in Hong Kong for three years as Head of an Investment Banking Search Practice for a global boutique firm and as a Partner established and led the Asia Pacific Financial Officers Practice for the Global Search Firm Whitehead Mann.

In 2005 he was appointed Partner to establish and lead the Australasia Chief Financial Officer Practice for Korn/Ferry International, covering all industry sectors with focus on ASX 100 listed companies.

Mr. Robinson commenced his executive search career as a Partner with Norman Broadbent in London. During his time in London he consulted on the finance and operational functions of the FTSE 100-250 and AIM listed companies for a decade, including some high profile searches which were closely followed by the press.

Mr. Robinson’s career began in marketing with an Australian radio network and as a Broker in the money market. It also includes experience in the Australian military where he was awarded with the coveted Green Beret.

Mr. Robinson has been involved in Board Advisory and C-Level appointments in three continents and was a Director of Australian Business in Europe whilst in London. Mr. Robinson holds a B.Comm with Merit.

Outside of business, Mr. Robinson has supported charities by competing in the London Marathon, The Marathon des Sables (across the Sahara Desert) and with a good friend assembled a small team to do something never previously attempted. It was termed the Arch to Arc and included a run from London (Wellington Arch) to Dover, swimming the English Channel and cycling from Calais to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The run was achieved wearing a Rhino costume for the “Saving the Rhino” Charity. 

 

Ian Smith

Mr. Smith has over 26 years’ experience working with global media, marketing and technology companies in Australia, the US, Europe and Asia and is heavily involved with Blenheim Partners’ Board, CEO, TMT & Private Equity Practices.

Prior to joining Blenheim Partners, he was Managing Partner of Heidrick & Struggles Australasia and member of the Board, CEO, Media, Entertainment, and Private Equity practices.

Before his career in executive search, Mr. Smith was Chief Executive Officer of Yahoo!7, one of Australia’s leading online portals and Chairman of Yahoo!Xtra, a joint venture with Telecom New Zealand.  He has also held Chief Executive Officer and senior executive roles in global media, marketing communications and advertising companies, including APAC regional Chief Executive Officer for Bates, and international president of Bates Worldwide based in New York. He was also a director of Cordiant PLC based in London.

Mr. Smith was Chief Executive Officer of The Communications Group (TCG), Australia’s largest marketing services holding company which included ownership of George Patterson Advertising, Zenith Media, Professional Public Relations and a dozen other marketing, technology, sponsorship, branded content and communications companies. In 2002, Ian led a private equity backed buyout of TCG which was subsequently sold to WPP in 2005.

He has also served as a Trustee of the State Library of New South Wales and a Director of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research Foundation.

Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor degree in Sociology and Psychology from La Trobe University in Melbourne.

 

Deborah Thomas

Ms Thomas has over 30 years’ experience in media, entertainment, marketing and retail across Australia and the United States. Prior to joining Blenheim Partners, Ms Thomas was one of only a handful of Australian women to have run an ASX 200 listed company. 

With extensive experience as a Managing Director, Non-Executive Director and Senior Executive of public and private companies, government bodies and NFP boards, Ms Thomas brings a keen working knowledge of executive management, C-suite and boardroom competencies, business strategy, building and managing teams, succession planning, change management, leadership and corporate governance.

As CEO and Managing Director of Ardent Leisure Group, Ms Thomas was responsible for five consumer, multi-site entertainment and leisure divisions: Main Event Entertainment in the US, bowling, marinas, health clubs and theme parks in Australia.

With 27 years’ experience across magazines, books, television, radio, digital and social media, Ms Thomas was highly regarded as one of Australia’s most successful and respected media executives.

During that time, Ms Thomas edited and managed some of Australia’s most popular women’s magazine brands including The Australian Women’s Weekly, a position she held for almost a decade, before moving to a corporate role within ACP Magazines, now Bauer Media.

Highlights of her board career include three years as Deputy Chair of the National Library of Australia, an Executive Director on the board of the Bangkok Post / ACP joint venture in Thailand and Non-Executive Director of the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre (now part of Cancer Australia).

A strong advocate for diversity, with a robust track record of supporting and mentoring young women, Ms Thomas has been involved in many NFP organisations including the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation, Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets and is a founding patron of the Taronga Conservation Foundation.

In 2012 Ms Thomas was elected to local government as a Councillor for Woollahra, completing her five-year term in August 2017.

Ms Thomas is a member of Chief Executive Women and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

 

Brett Wright

Dr. Wright has advised many of Australia’s premier organisations on board and executive structure, performance and assessment, competitor analysis and succession planning.

Dr. Wright is a highly experienced and innovative business executive. He has an extensive background in human resource leadership, strategy and management. He is a key member of the Board, CEO, HR, Financial Services Practices. He also leads the Leadership Advisory and Re-Engagement Practices.  

Prior to Executive Search he had a range of line management, academic and consulting roles which includes nine years as the Group Executive Human Resources in St George Bank. At St George, Dr. Wright was a member of the Executive Committee reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.

Dr. Wright was responsible for all aspects of the people strategy for over 9,000 employees. This included developing and implementing human resource programs aimed at providing the competitive advantage through people. He oversaw recruitment, learning and leadership development, culture and change, remuneration and benefits, health and safety and employee relations. He was a key driver behind many of the Group’s initiatives including flexible working arrangements.

More recently Dr. Wright was Executive Director People for Ashurst, reporting to the Managing Partner. He managed all aspects of the people strategy for the Australian and Asian offices of the firm.

Dr. Wright advises Board and Senior Executives from a strategic and operational perspective on a wide range of human resource issues across all industries.

Dr. Wright has a PhD in Organisational Behaviour and has been the Adjunct Professor to the University of Western Australia. He also holds a B.E(Hons), M.EngSc and an MBA from the University of Sydney and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD). 

 

Joseph Marsella

Mr. Marsella leads the Technology Markets Practice. He is responsible for Blenheim Partners talent solutions for this sector which includes Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Digital Officer, Security Officer, Data Officer, Strategy and Architecture, Program/Project Office, Infrastructure, Operations, Development and Service Delivery. Mr. Marsella also assists Boards with the appointments of Technology Non-Executive Directors.

Mr. Marsella has an extensive background in global business and leading Information and Technology divisions with experience across a broad range of industries including Consumer, Health Care, Banking and Financial Services and Education.

Prior to Executive Search, Mr. Marsella was the Chief Information Officer, Asia Pacific for Kimberly-Clark, a group that manufactures and markets some of the world’s most recognised brands. He also held senior technology roles with AMP Financial Services and Westpac Banking Corporation and was a Lecturer at Sydney Institute of Technology.

Mr. Marsella, as a former Chief Information Officer, brings deep experience and understanding of business, strategic planning, change management, optimisation of organisation composition and delivery of initiatives with current technology insight.

Sarah Morgan

Ms. Morgan is a member of the Board and CEO Practice and works across the northern hemisphere. She manages the coverage of the United Kingdom, European and US markets supported by a network of Senior researchers/consultants.

Ms. Morgan is an independent consultant and has worked with Blenheim Partners since 2015 focusing on Executive and Board appointments. She has over 16 years’ search experience specialising in Chairmen, Non-Executive Director, Advisory and Executive appointments. Previously she spent seven years with Russell Reynolds in their board practice. Based in London she worked internationally and coordinated the European board practice.

Prior to this Ms. Morgan worked for two years with Hanson Green, a non-executive boutique. Ms. Morgan began her career with Heidrick & Struggles, in their board practice. She has worked across all sectors covering FTSE 100, FTSE 250, Private Equity and Not for Profit Boards. She is a graduate in Geography from the University of Nottingham.

Anna Papahristos

Ms. Papahristos is a member of our Elite Performance Unit and Leadership Advisory Practice.

Ms. Papahristos is a leading organisational Psychologist and has been consulting Chief Executives in the ASX 300, Senior Executives in Government agencies, and members specialised units of the Emergency services and Armed Forces for 10 years.

Ms. Papahristos brings extensive and diverse experience which includes engagement with tactical operational elements of government bodies, development of hostage negotiators and behavioral expertise in regards to people management and the impact of organisational culture. She is involved in the delivery of excellence in organisational health encompassing risk mitigation, critical advisory and bespoke consultation with senior leaders.

She has extensive experience of working closely with those high performance and leadership roles locally and internationally.

Ms. Papahristos distinguishes herself as a psychologist who is highly skilled in conceptualising and delivering outcomes in a structured and applicable framework and has been a guest lecturer on cognitive Behavioral Theory and Practice.

Ms. Papahristos holds a B.A. Mus, BBSc (Psych), Grad. Dip, Counselling.

Ms. Papahristos speaks conversational Greek, Italian and German.

 

Steven Segal

Dr. Segal is a member of the Leadership, Advisory and Re-Engagement Practices.

Dr. Segal is a Senior Lecturer at Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM). He is a registered Psychologist and specialises in teaching and practice of Executive Coaching, leading with a Global Mindset and Foundations of Management Thought and Organisational Behaviour.

Dr. Segal is also the author of Business Feel: From the Science of Management to the Philopsphy of Leadership as well as other journals.

Dr. Segal holds a BA (Wits), BA Honours (RAU), BA Honours (Wits), MA (Wits), PhD (Wits).

 

Luke McKenna

Eunice Liu

Before joining Blenheim Partners, Ms. Liu was with Fortune 500 multinational, Novartis Group, in senior Human Resource roles in China. This included HRBP for Novartis Oncology and HR Project Manager for CoE (C&B, Talent Management and Organisation Development and Talent Acquisition). Prior to Novartis, Ms. Liu worked with Korn/Ferry for four years based in Beijing where she worked on local and international assignments in the Technology, Healthcare and Financial Services sectors.  

Ms. Liu holds a MBA and a Bachelor of Law majoring in International Relations and Diplomacy.

Outside of business, Mr. Wright is a keen cross-country skier and biathlete. He has been a member of the Australian Biathlon Team for a number of years and competes internationally in Europe each year representing Australia. In 2016 he represented Australia at the International Biathlon Union (IBU) Youth/Junior Biathlon World Championships in Chiele Gradistei, Romania. 

Mr. Wright is undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce.

Jeremy Low

Mr. Low established the Asia Practice and is based in Hong Kong. He is responsible for building Blenheim Partners’ presence in the region as well as executing senior level assignments.

Mr. Low has extensive business experience covering financial services, legal and compliance, sales and marketing, technology and telecommunications. Prior to his career in search Mr. Low was a lawyer and investment banker in the Asia-Pacific region located in both Hong Kong and Singapore with JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank. He commenced his legal career in Australia with Mallesons.

Mr. Low holds a double degree of B.Comm and LLB (Hons).

Mr. Low speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Darrell Sham

Mr. Sham is a member of the Board, CEO, CFO and Consumer Practices.

Mr. Sham partners Mr. Low in executing senior level assignments across a number of sectors. Mr. Sham has extensive business experience in Asia and previously was a Chief Financial Officer in Hong Kong.

Mr. Sham has lead and built teams in finance, strategic planning and business improvement. He has experience in regional and group accounting roles, financial planning and analysis, business modelling, design and implementation of improved financial and management reporting, merger and acquisition due diligence, change management and establishment of shared services.

Mr. Sham is a Chartered Accountant with an MBA from Australia. He trained as an auditor with Pricewaterhouse in Sydney and later joined Pricewaterhouse Consulting as a Consultant in Singapore and China.

Mr. Sham speaks fluent English, Cantonese and business Mandarin.

Andrew Shestopal

Mr. Shestopal is a member of the Board, CEO and Property/ Real Estate Practices.

Mr. Shestopal has worked in executive search since 1997, specialising in real estate since 1999. He has an excellent track record in the industry having successfully completed searches for Bard executives, senior management and functional heads within the property company, investment banking, investment management, private equity, corporate owner/occupier and professional services environments.

Prior to joining the Thomas Cole Kinder(TCK), he was a Partner at Whitehead Mann where he established the firms real estate practice. Earlier in his career, Mr. Shestopal focused on financial appointments across a broader range of industries.

Mr. Shestopal has a BA (Hons) in Economics and an MA in Business Analysis from Leicester University.

Mr. Shestopal is a partner of TCK, Europe’s specialist Real Estate search firm. We have been working closely with TCK to extend the reach of major appointments in this sector.

Matthew Morris

Mr. Morris is a member of the Board, CEO and Financial Services Practices.

Mr. Morris has spent 14 years recruiting senior management positions across a variety of industries. Prior to establishing Bray Lloyd, he spent five and a half years with an international search firm that specialised in infrastructure within the financial services sector.

Mr. Morris has completed search and consulting projects in investment and corporate banking, asset management and wealth management in the UK, United States and Asia. He has in-depth functional expertise across infrastructure and extensive experience of front office roles within corporate and transaction banking.

Mr. Morris’s early career was spent in finance with Ernst & Young and Hertz.

Mr. Morris holds an economics degree from Exeter University.

Mr. Morris is the Managing Partner of Bray Lloyd. We have worked closely with Bray Lloyd to extend the reach of major appointments in financial services.

Simon Keating

Mr. Keating is a member of the Board, CEO and Financial Services Practices.

Mr. Keating heads our corporate governance practice in the UK/Europe. Mr. Keating’s primary focus is on senior appointments within compliance, internal audit and regulatory functions. Mr. Keating also has extensive experience within the insurance industry and leads the practice.

Mr. Keating has 15 years of search experience having worked for both boutique and global executive search firms in risk, audit, compliance, regulatory and insurance. Prior to joining Bray Lloyd he spent three years running a dedicated search firm which he co-founded. Mr. Keating began his search career with the Korn/Ferry International Group.

Mr. Keating holds an MSc from Cranfield University.
